*--Ekwok--*

Alaska!!!

Hello Everyone,

I just decided I would start a blog about my trip to Alaska. =) I thought I would share some pictures and experiences with you, especially since many of you did not know that I would be spending some time in Alaska this summer. I came up to do some missions work and also help out with the Alaska-Yukon youth camp and family camp.

I started my trip off with a week in a small village called Ekwok. This little village is made up by about 120 people and would be what we call "remote". No kidding! (We drew water from a well because there was no running water in the church we stayed in). I was kind of taken aback at first, but it was pretty much what I expected and I just went with the flow of things! I was with the Hall family(who pastor in King Salmon) and Sis. Judy(from New Hampshire). We went to Ekwok to do Vacation Bible School(VBS) for the children and have church services. It was awesome!!!
We stayed in the church building and "camped out" for the week. We had to turn our "house" back into "VBS" during the day, and back into "church" for the some of the evenings. We stayed very busy, hardly stopping, all week long, but it was worth it! Everyday, I would see 20-25 children learn about God and his love towards them. I wish I could have stayed there a little bit longer. The people of Ekwok, and other villages alike, need to know about Jesus!!!

This is just a very brief outline of my week in Ekwok, but I'm sure you get the idea. Enjoy the pictures! =)

The church building where we slept, ate, taught VBS, and had church in. Thank God for it!

My "room". It had just enough space for my bed. ;)
